NSERC-CREATE TRAINING PROGRAM IN QUANTITATIVE BIOMEDICINE

2nd NANO-PHOTONICS FOR LIFE SCIENCES WORKSHOP
UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA APRIL 30 – MAY 4, 2012
CO-ORGANIZERS Hanan Anis (Engineering)- Tito Scaiano (Science)

We are pleased to announce the 2nd workshop in Nano-photonics for Life Sciences, which will be held from Monday April 30th until Friday May 4th, 2012. It is organized by the University of Ottawa, and supported by NSERC-CREATE training program in Quantitative Biomedicine. This highly pedagogical course is directed at senior undergraduate and junior graduate students from the chemistry, physics, engineering and the life sciences who wish to develop their skills in the area of nano- and bio-photonics. The topics will range from photonics, nanochemistry and cell biology, with a focus on applications of nanophotonics in the life sciences.

All classes and laboratories will be held either on the main campus of the University of Ottawa or at National Research Council in downtown Ottawa. The School will be held in English.

This workshop is also one of the requirements for the graduate course CHM8309J. Students interested in this course should go to the Faculty of Science, Graduate Office in GNN-181 at 30 Marie-Curie in order to get registered.

Enrolment in the workshop will be limited to 40 participants.
